We hit the road early (8:00 am) and had a great ride on the old route 66, then hoppped on the Freeway to by pass Oklahoma City. As we have been getting caught up in the big cities trying to get through on the original route. Our plan worked well.
Then omg the wind started, it was about 40 celcius riding, with 40 to 80 Klm / hr gusts hitting us on the left side, we rode like this for 120 + miles. It was really difficult, and at some times a bit scary.
On the Prarie - check the flags, it's howling |

Its my Birthday - thats not a cake! |
Ended up finding another Wal Mart to return Daves dud camera, so now weve got two.
Tommorrow the plan is to get to Amarillo Texas, and get a 72oz steak ito us, if we eat it its free (plus fries etc), Dave thinks his mate Larry might have been here allready. We are pretty sure the conditions are going to be the same as today, so it is sure to be full of challenges. (again it will be Mick's birthday)
Love to all. Dave & Mick
Happy Birthday Mick!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat wind sounds fierce - you did well to still do your 210 miles. Good luck with the steak!
